ssc stenographer preparation strategy

This is Arshiya. I cracked SSC Stenographer 2023 at the age of 20. I am currently pursuing a B.A. from Allahabad University. This was my second attempt, and my main aim is to guide you on how I managed to increase my score from only 95 marks to 148 marks by consistently putting in 9-10 hours of study for two months. However, I must add a disclaimer: my base was already built to some extent, and not everyone has the same kind of background. Also, my shorthand speed was 100 wpm at this particular point, so I left shorthand completely. If you are a beginner, start applying this strategy from now on; otherwise, you will regret it in the end. This exam is not at all difficult to crack; all you need is a smart approach, relevant up-to-date resources, and of course, consistency, which will lead you to score well in the CBT (1st stage) as well as you can qualify the shorthand skill test (2nd stage).   As you know, this exam comprises three sections: English, Reasoning and General Awareness....

Benefits of reading books for students

Benefits of reading books for students

Reading is an activity that can benefit you in many ways, from improving your academic performance to helping with stress relief. It's also a great way to spend time on the go--whether it's on the subway or waiting at the airport.

Reading helps build knowledge, which is essential for college students who are expected to know so much more than they did in high school. Reading books gives us insight into other cultures and perspectives, making us more open-minded people overall.
Reading is also good for our brains! Studies have shown that reading increases memory retention by almost 10%. The act of reading itself requires concentration and focus (two skills needed by anyone trying to succeed academically), which means that if you're reading something challenging enough for your level, then those neurological pathways will strengthen over time as well!

Here are some benefits of reading books for college students as well as for all age groups. You will left with no questions like why reading books is important for students?what are the benefits of reading for students? at the end of this article. So, without wasting any time further let's get started.

Improved Academic Performance

Reading a book in college is an excellent way to improve your academic performance. Reading a book helps you improve comprehension, retention of information, writing skills and grades.

Stress Relief

Reading a book can provide a mental escape, especially if you're reading something that interests you. It can reduce physical and mental stress by allowing your mind to focus on something else for a while. Reading also serves as a form of self-care, which is important in college because it's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of classes, clubs and extracurricular activities.

Finding Time to Read

Finding time to read can be a challenge, especially if you're busy with schoolwork and extracurricular activities. Here are some tips for making sure you fit in some reading:
  • Take advantage of free time. If your schedule is busy, try finding pockets of time throughout the day when you can read without interruption--like during lunch break or between classes.
  • Set aside dedicated reading time each day or week (or both). This could involve setting aside 30 minutes after dinner every evening, or taking an hour on Saturday mornings before heading out for brunch with friends or family members who don't mind being late because they know how important it is for their loved one to get their daily dose of books!

Choosing the Right Books

Choosing the right books is a crucial part of college life. You should read books that match your interests, are challenging and have multiple genres.
Reading a book with an interesting plot or storyline will help you to enjoy reading more than if the story was boring or uninteresting. Also, reading a challenging book will make it easier for you to understand what is happening in the story because it will require more effort from yourself as well as more concentration on what's happening in each chapter or scene of the book itself! Finally, choosing books with multiple genres means that there will be something different every time we pick up one of our favorites again!

Creating a Reading Environment

Creating a reading environment

The first step to creating a reading environment is finding the right spot. There are many factors to consider when choosing where you'll read, including:
  • Comfort level
  • Lighting and noise levels
  • Privacy (if you want it)

Getting the Most out of Your Reading

There is a lot of question of students regarding this topic as this is the most important part of reading books but from now on you will not face any difficulties, you have to simply follow these steps.

There are a few ways to get the most out of your reading. First, take notes as you go along. This will help you remember what was important and also give you a place to start when it comes time to write an essay or do some other type of assignment related to the material. Second, summarize what you've read in your own words at the end of each chapter or section--this will help with retention as well as provide an opportunity for self-reflection on how well-organized your thoughts were while reading (and whether there were any gaps). Finally, ask questions: What does this mean? Why did they include this detail? How does this relate back again? These types of questions are great because they force us into active engagement with our texts rather than passive consumption alone; moreover, answering them forces us into deeper reflection about what we're learning from those texts which helps solidify our understanding even further!
